Three habits for True/False/Not Given
Admin1 November 2026 1 min read
Most mistakes come from three habits you can change this week.
1. Read the whole sentence
Do not stop at the keyword. A single word such as only or usually can change the answer.
2. Decide what the text says before you look at the options
Write a short note: Text says sales rose in 2010. Then compare it with the statement. This stops the statement from influencing what you think the text says.
3. Treat Not Given as a real answer
If you cannot find evidence for or against, the answer is probably Not Given.
A quick checklist
| Question | If yes |
|---|---|
| Does the text say the same thing in different words? | True |
| Does the text say the opposite? | False |
| Does the text say nothing about this? | Not Given |
