This page explains what Toofey collects, why, and who else sees it. Toofey is run by Hieu. Questions about your data: [trantrunghieu815@gmail.com](mailto:trantrunghieu815@gmail.com).

What we collect

  • Account: your name, your email, and either a password (we only keep a hash of it, never the password itself) or your Google account ID if you sign in with Google.
  • Learning activity: answers and scores, lesson progress, XP and streak, saved words, your study plan, target band and exam date.
  • Text you send for AI feedback: essays and speaking transcripts, together with the question they answer.
  • Recordings: audio you record for the pronunciation check. It is analysed and then thrown away. We do not keep the recording.
  • Payments: handled by Stripe. We keep your plan, your credit balance and Stripe's reference numbers. We never see your card number.
  • Technical: your IP address, used for short-lived counters that stop abuse such as password guessing.

Signing in with Google

If you choose "Continue with Google", we ask Google for three things only: openid, email and profile. That gives us your Google account ID, your email address and your name. We use them to create your Toofey account or find it again, and for nothing else.

We do not ask for, and cannot see, your Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Contacts or any other Google data. We do not use it for ads and we do not sell it.

You can disconnect Google on your Account page, and you can remove Toofey's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Toofey's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

How we use it

To run the site: sign you in, mark your answers, show your progress and give you AI feedback. Also to keep the site safe, handle payments and answer your messages. We do not send marketing email.

Who else gets it

We do not sell your personal data. A few services handle it for us:

  • Anthropic (Claude): receives the text of an essay or transcript and its question when you ask for AI feedback. We do not send your name or email.
  • Stripe: takes payments and manages subscriptions.
  • Google: only for signing in.
  • Our hosting and database provider: stores everything above.
  • GrowthBook (if switched on): feature flags, using an anonymous ID with no name or email.

We may also share information if the law requires it.

The leaderboard

Your first name and the first letter of your last name, with your XP and streak, show on the public leaderboard. It is on by default. Turn it off on your Account page under "Show me on the public leaderboard".

Cookies and storage

We use only what the site needs, and no advertising or tracking cookies.

  • Sign-in cookies (toofey_at, toofey_rt): keep you logged in. Scripts on the page cannot read them.
  • `toofey_oauth`: a cookie that lasts 10 minutes while a Google sign-in is in progress.
  • Browser storage: your light or dark mode, your signed-in profile, and an anonymous ID (toofey.did) so feature flags stay the same between visits.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your data while your account exists. To delete your account and the data tied to it, email [trantrunghieu815@gmail.com](mailto:trantrunghieu815@gmail.com). We keep payment records only as long as accounting rules require.

Your choices

You can change your name, target band, exam date and leaderboard setting on your Account page. For a copy of your data, a correction or deletion, email [trantrunghieu815@gmail.com](mailto:trantrunghieu815@gmail.com).

Changes

If this page changes in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and tell you in the app or by email.
