Speaking Part 2: A holiday place (Band 6.5 version)

Speaking Part 2 180 words 1 min read

Question

Describe a place you visited on holiday. You should say: where it was, who you went with, what you did there, and explain why you remember it.

What a band 6.5 answer sounds like

I'd like to talk about a trip to Da Nang, a coastal city in central Vietnam, which I visited last summer with my parents and my younger brother.

We stayed in a small hotel about five minutes from the beach, and we spent most of the time swimming and relaxing. We also tried a lot of local seafood, which was really delicious and much cheaper than I expected. One day we went to the Golden Bridge, which is a bridge held up by two giant stone hands. It was very crowded, but the view of the mountains was amazing.

The reason I remember this trip is that it was the first time in a long time that all of us were together without anyone being busy with work or school. My father usually works very long hours, so it was nice to see him relaxed. I also remember the sunrise on the beach, because we woke up very early one morning just to watch it.

I would definitely like to go back, maybe in spring when it's not so hot.
