What a band 7.0 answer sounds like
I'd like to talk about my English teacher from secondary school, Mrs Hoa. She taught us from the age of fourteen to sixteen, and honestly, she changed how I thought about learning.
She was quite strict, but she had a way of making difficult things seem manageable. Instead of simply telling us the grammar rules, she'd ask us to find the patterns ourselves, and then she'd correct us gently. I remember one lesson when I'd made the same mistake three times in a row, and she just smiled and said that mistakes were evidence that I was trying.
What she did for me, more than anything, was to build my confidence. I used to be extremely shy about speaking in class, but she gave us small tasks in pairs, and gradually I got used to it. By the end of the year I was volunteering answers.
I remember her so clearly because she showed me that effort matters more than talent. Even now, when I'm struggling with something new, I tell myself what she used to say: that every mistake is a step forward.
